Queen Cutlery

Posted on April 25, 2010.
Queen CutleryEating at home of a friend?

Inspired by Caribbean Queen issue, for those who question my motives - made me think of a few years back. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind ...

Imagine that you have always eaten a pizza with your hands. You are now at a friend's house, eating pizza, his parents are both eating with their hands, but the friend is using a knife and fork. Do you do as you normally do (hands) or follow a friend and use covered?

Reverse the situation: you are usually covered, but a friend's house where they eat pizza with their hands. Do you ask for a knife and fork or follow the Romans?

I eat I usually would, however, clearly since both methods are acceptable to their table ..

Oh, and I thank them for dinner.

If it were me .. depending on the type of pizza it is. If it's a pizza with a few articles about it. Also dependent on the rind, if it is thin or thick. Do what you feel comfortable.

If there is someone at home who live and eat with your hands, you can do.

If they are all eating with their hands and do not provide cutlery, eating with their hands.

If they are all eating with cutlery, you should.

Everything you do when you're a guest, just make sure you follow someone else drive!

I would ask for cutlery whatever the situation, then use if if I felt like I should. I usually use a fork for at least a part of my pizza anyway. All it takes to keep from making a mess.

I eat the toppings off with a fork, then the rest of my hands.

When in Rome. You do what your guests are doing. You obey the traditions and rules of the house where you now of course there are limits and common sense should respond to these opportunities.

I'd like the host is simply because to do otherwise might be offensive

If parents use their hands and I use my hands. I use this reasoning to see that they raised their children to follow their standards, and precisely because it does not use his hands does not mean she is "rude"

If the reverse was true I would like to use silverware, people have their own ways of doing things, the family would probably think that you were just raised to eat pizza this way.

I usually follow the Romans, I do not want uncomfortable someomone and does not hesitate to give my standard yet.

yes

Do as the Romans.

I eat but I wanted to eat! Only if everyone at the table eating with cutlery should I choose to use cutlery.
