I reviewed many steamboats before ruling on it and I am very happy with my decision. This is a great boat. It is perfect boiled eggs (something I always struggled to do), the vapors vegetables (fresh and frozen) perfectly and is still great for hot dogs. This unit is on my long years of cons which is not my style, what I want to leave my counters clean. It gets used so much that I could not see the need to store. This is a great buy!

We bought the steamer Oster 5712 4 years ago. It has a number of improvements over previous generations Nice steamers. It has a pond system to collect the juice from the food and a steam room which quickly during the steam. The electronic controls are nice and practical. If you have other things to prepare, you can have rice (for example) to within a few hours to steam ahead and start his own steam while you're busy with other things.

We love this product very much. Unfortunately, the plastic bowls began to wear out, and in particular, the rice bowl has a crack through which fluids leak through. Worse yet, the crack is under the heater when the jet basin system can not catch the drippings, so that the juice of the food are getting into the water tank and possibly damage the heating element.

We have studied the replacement of the bowls in vain. They are made of recyclable plastic. However, replacement bowls, unless you can get, you have no choice but to buy an entirely new unit, even if the heater works very well and is not recyclable.

We love the unit as we go ahead and buy a new one. However, it is disappointing to see how the products for a living "sustainable" does not extend to the good old tradition to have replacement parts for appliances.

The lid cracked in the dishwasher, but I love the game and forget to cook lotus wrapped frozen dim sum steamed rice and potatoes only. The heating element seems to have discovered corroded steam food is a concern, including potatoes.
