Jar RubbersPosted on May 14, 2010. Can I reuse jar rubber rings for canning? I can use pots cleats. I've always been using the rings fresh every time. Can they be rewashed and reused several times (I do not want to reuse more than three to five times in all cases). Murray nailed. You could very well re-use the rings. The key is to oil (vegetable oil, olive oil or major works), which prevents them from losing elasticity and reduction. (This happens when they dry out) em Just wash, dry 'em and oil' em and you can use a few times. It saves money and works effectively too. The pots are tightening the best pots to use in the reuse of rings on that they provide additional "hold" and sealing joints. I think it's great that you are canning. This is an additional workload, but what is it to have fresh stuff all winter! Good for you! I do not think you try to do. The reason is that when you process your jars, rubber loses its elasticity, or at least some of, therefore it is reasonable to think that it would also lose power leakage. wash, then put a little oil on the Not Recommended. I do not want. Because the jars sealing is never 100% sure. This would increase the chances that they would not seal. In the long term, they will not take a leak in time. For labor and the cost would not be worth it. I read that you do not reuse the rubber bushing .... the method of canning is called Weck and its origin in Germany .... They have a wonderful website .... Certainly not. CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment |
