Gelato Spoons

When you go to a gelateria (at least in the U.S.) spoons to eat the ice are still small. Why?

The spoons are so small, to help regulate the amount of ice that you put in your mouth at once, so you will not get a brain freeze "or" headache ice cream.

I do not know, but my guess is then u do not get greedy and get Brainfreeze

If so, then why isn't Ben & Jerry's, Baskin Robbins and Haagen Dasz still serve with spoons regular business? Maybe they do not care about Brainfreeze, as long as we pay them.

I have two reasons, one that the store is said and because of that I think is the real reason.
They say that you can experience the full taste of the deal with smaller quantities.
The real reason is that purging smaller and you will not notice if you eat small quantities.
