What do you think of this chapter, the extremely please? I woke up the next morning with the sun beating through my bedroom window. Something I'm not used back in the middle of September. It is mainly rain, or worse, snow.
I decide to get up right away, which is unusual for me. Sunday I used to stay in bed all morning. Must be the weather, the more I am happy to discover my new surroundings.
Once I choose an outfit, I pull my hair in a bun and push on my boots. I reason with myself that it will be better for breakfast when I'm out, set fire to my new kitchen. I leave the elevator to the reception. Eugene is on the phone-again most likely his mother, I give him a quick wave and walk.
Maurice opened the door with a cheerful "Hello, Miss Sophie, sleep well?"
"I did indeed, Maurice, thank you." I say and walk down the street. I'm walking in the street a bit and find a small cafe. I decided to go get something to eat before I faint.
As soon as I enter the waitress rushed towards me as I am the first customer she had seen in a month. Maybe I am. Maybe the coffee is rubbish. It is too late to turn around and leave now, she has already seen.
"Hey there," says Doris, "do you want a table?"
"Yes please, Doris," I reply. She looks totally freaked out that I know his name. I noticed on his name badge, as she ran to me like a stampede of animals when I came in.
"Oh, you know my name. Are you one of those see in the future people?" She asks.
I looked down at his badge and give him a wink. His face turns bright red as she looks and sees the big black writing on her apron.
"Could I have a coffee and scrambled eggs on toast please?" I ask.
"One thing is sure, my darling, will not take long," she said, as she shows me to my seat. She smiled and headed towards the counter.
"Jeff, two slabs with chicks and a jumping bean." She screams at the rear.
What did she just call my eggs? I do not want to think this way. I begin to understand why coffee is so empty. As I await my eggs I look around. It is really a nice little cafe. It is a loss no one is here. There are pictures of famous people past the wall at each booth. Marilyn Monroe, JFK, Elvis, and now I am the breakfast with Frank Sinatra.
Doris arrived with my breakfast and sat in front of me just to watch. I want to tell her "What? Why do you look? "Deciding not to offend anyone, I spot a gathering," yum, very nice. "
She wanted to see if I liked it because when I said that she left. Or she can read minds and got offended by my thoughts. I end up and pay, "said Doris and Jeff their kitchen was brilliant and I'll be back. I wave goodbye and walk out the door, cross the road I'm standing before the gates of Central Park. This is what I expected. I push them open and walk in.
Everything is so green. The grass is dancing in the breeze and a few leaves on the trees turn color Autum. There are wooden benches around the park. I'm not used to beautiful parks and wooden benches. The benches that I'm used to seeing the red bus. I keep walking and see a whole different world. Woman jogging forget all their worries, mothers, babies and their caregivers on their morning walk. Businessmen on their cell phones while walking in the park not even aware of where they are. How can they just walk?
I take a seat near the pond and everyone shows. I get excited as I see the lady from Mary Poppins. Not Julie Andrews, but the little bird said Lady Mary Jane and Michael about. I know this is not really her, but she has the same cart with all the little bags of birdseed hanging from the side. I can not I stop and go.
